With her refreshing openness and candor, Pricing V.P. Sharon Owens clarified conditions of the upcoming January, 2018, USPS Price Change for an audience of 45 WILDS members. At the August WILDS Member luncheon located conveniently across the street from USPS headquarters at 955 L’Enfant Plaza North, V.P. Owens described highlights of the contingency price change strategy. She addressed what many wanted to know about how the USPS is dealing with the 2018 Price Change in the face of no U.S. Postal Service Board of Governor members.
The following highlights include what had been put in place by the remaining governor prior to retirement:
– Maintain predictable/stable rates
– Assure adequate revenues to maintain financial stability
– Authorization for both a Market Dominant and a Competitive price change case

V.P. Owens’ presentation was interactive and members were pleased with her responses to a variety of questions. DPMG Ron Stroman joined the group early in the presentation and contributed to the informative discussion. One customer made a point to share how grateful the industry is for V.P. Owens’ willingness to collaborate as a way to strengthen the USPS through its industry partnerships.
