USPS Chief information Officer Wows WILDS Members
Kristin Seaver, U.S. Postal Service Chief Information Officer, shared a variety of exciting concepts. She described the ‘Digital Reflection of the Mail’ as bridging the divide between the digital and physical mail piece, keeping mail relevant and better serving our customers. For example, Informed Delivery, a Postal Service digital offering, provides customers with a preview of incoming mail and packages. Ms. Seaver also discussed the importance of security and protection of personal information; a longstanding priority of the U.S. Postal Service. Ms. Seaver also referenced how the world is getting smaller as more and more goods are shipped internationally requiring several agencies and world organizations to continuously work together to protect the sanctity of the mail here in the US.
In response to being asked how she manages time, Ms. Seaver conceded it is difficult, but looking at the larger picture of one’s life helps to see how overemphasis on work, or family is unavoidable at times. Ms. Seaver’s advice? So long as you keep both in focus, you can achieve balance.
